We were considering replacing old worn-out windows in our older manufactured home with newer design double pane vinyl windows. Steve May was able to find a source and got us a quote for both the standard trailer home type windows and the more expensive energy efficient windows. We were very serious about getting the better windows but after more research and consideration of the economic sense of our situation we decided to go with the standard windows. 
 
After the window order came in we got the call and scheduled the installation.Steve and his crew arrived on time and went right to work. Most of the window installations required some modification of the window framing due to a little difference in the replacement window frame depth. This was unavoidable because the original old window design were not being made anymore. Not really much extra work and there was no extra charge. One window opening had some old wood damage from water leaks in the past. It looked to me like it would need some rebuilding of the wood framing but they were able to install the window without any restoration. They also repaired the inside sill of that window which looked pretty bad in the corner of that window frame. It turned out looking like it was new. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Replacing our roof with an insulated roof went very well. Steve May showed up right on time to discuss the project and provide an estimate. He answered all my questions there and then a few more that I emailed him. Everything was straight forward, no games and no unkept promises. On the day of the installation he showed up with his son Brad and his nephew Bryan. They completed the job quickly because they worked continuously and efficiently. They were very respectful of my property and cleaned up as they finished. Steve made sure I was pleased with the installation and even brought extra trim material so I could chose the color of the outer edge. We were so happy with the quality work May Construction already did in January to screen in our porch, that we decided to screen in the pool as well.  Steve May was very thorough in designing and measuring the pool enclosure, and made sure we were happy with the shape, location of the doors, etc. When Steve brought his team to build the enclosure, his team worked tirelessly for hours and hours in order to get the job done as quickly as humanly possible. Shortly after moving into our short sale house, we discovered that whenever it rained, water would flood the area between the main house and the laundry room. Even though money was tight, we absolutely needed to put in screen rooms to prevent any more water damage.  Because of our past experience with incompetent contractors, I checked Angie's list first. We chose three companies to give us price quotes. Of the three companies we contacted, we were the most impressed with Steve May, the owner of Steve May Construction. He patiently guided us through the process of exploring our options and offered the cheapest price by far. He also offered 6 months same as cash, which helped us afford to do this project. The office staff  made the process of signing up for the financing very easy. Steve and his crew got the job done in only 2 days, and the workmanship was of the highest quality. In fact several of our neighbors stopped by to tell us how great the house looks with the screen rooms! Mr. May built a concrete patio and patio cover for my home. He was prompt in scheduling an estimate and was very through with planning and pricing. Pricing was very competitive. They worked very clean and fast. Steve put me at ease when he came to do the initial bid, no hard sell on how great his company is, came back and measured the job a couple of times which tells me he wanted to get it right the first time, personable and accommodating. His wife Sally is the pretty face of the bunch (sorry Steve) and she runs things behind the scenes. She let us get our Insurance check prior to paying them the last installment.

The condo community I live in prohibits the installation of enclosed patios beyond the limited offering they provide. I and many of my neighbors want to enclose a more realistic space. Two of the roadblocks the condo association put in our way were the lack of solid plans in previous applications for similar enclosures and the sloppy work done by other, unnamed persons in nearby communities. I interviewed several contractors and, working with Steve, we drew up a set of plans that clearly describe and define the project. I was able to attach references from other clients Steve has worked with and show the quality of the enclosure we would be installing. Steve has been quick to provide us the information we need to better overcome the condo association's objections. His support has been excellent.

We recently purchased an older double wide mobile home, which had a screen room only off of the utility room. One heavy, blowing rain, started us thinking seriously about enclosing the area with some sort of windows. We contacted Steve, he came out for an estimate the next day, was on time for the appointment. Provided us with a free estimate, no pressure, very professional, just an all around good guy. We gave him the job on the spot. and was never sorry. He had told us about 3 weeks for delivery and install, and it was exactly 3 weeks, when Steve called us up and set up the appointment for the install. They were here at the exact time scheduled, with his son and nephew. Super guys and job all the way around. May Construction did everything EXACTLY as they said that they would...the quality of work was GREAT....after receiving 3 quotes for the same job, May Construction came in well under what the other companies quoted. They say that "you get what you pay for"...in this case we got MORE than we paid for. Just because they had the lowest quote did NOT mean that they did the least quality work. They did just as good (if not better) job than any of the higher priced companies would have done.
